Tacuna Systems is excited to announce their new “Women in Engineering Empowerment Scholarship”.Women are still very much under-represented in STEM fields both in higher education and in industry. Their goal is to help equip a female student overcome this gender gap by offering a scholarship toward her studies in science, technology, engineering, or math.

 

September

National Academies Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy research internships are for rising or current graduate students in social sciences, health sciences, life sciences, physical sciences, engineering, law, and public health.

 

October

American Concrete Institute Fellowships are for undergraduate engineering students majoring in fields leading to a career related in concrete materials and engineering.

The Chicago Chapter of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP) offers a scholarship to support students who are investing their future in the protection of the environment. Applicants must be undergraduate juniors or seniors or graduate students.

The Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society grants in aid of research (science and engineering); awards for astronomy and vision-related research.

The U.S. Department of Energy Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship is for undergraduate students interested in energy-related research positions at various labs across the country within the DOE; positions available for fall, spring and summer. (Additional deadlines in January and May)

The Woodrow Wilson Indiana Teaching Fellowship for college seniors, recent graduates and career changers in the STEM disciplines; earn master's degree in education and teaching certification in Indiana for teaching placement in high-need urban or rural secondary school. (Additional deadlines in November and January)

 

November

Associated General Contractors of America Foundation Graduate and Undergraduate Scholarships support continuing undergraduate students and graduate students in accredited construction management or construction-related engineering programs.

CAC-BEF is a non- for profit organization that aids students in continuing their education in the area of building envelope. Students enrolled in a curriculum under the building envelope are of study (engineering, architecture, etc.) are encouraged by the firm to apply.

The National GEM Consortium Fellowship is for engineering, natural and physical sciences students; for master's and PhD-level work; African American, Native American Indian, and Hispanic students.

National Physical Science Consortium (NPSC) Fellowships  is an opportunity that emphasizes recruitment of women and underrepresented minorities into doctoral degree programs within the physical sciences, biochemistry, computer science, and related fields of science and engineering.

The Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship is for students with pursuing or planning to pursue a PhD in aerospace engineering.

 

December

The Allied Van Lines Scholarship offers a scholarship program aimed at students whose area of study focuses on logistics and moving-related fields.

American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers Scholarship Program  provides scholarships for students in degree programs related to HVAC-R engineering and technology.

The American Water Works Association (AWWA) offers more than 20 scholarships to graduate engineering students interested in the water industry, such as focus topics related to water science, water supply, and treatment.

The Mission of the CAC Building Envelope Foundation Scholarship Fund isto create opportunities for the advancement of the building envelope professions (Architecture, Engineering, or Construction programs).

The GeneTex Scholarship is offered to undergraduate students who have declared a STEM major. These students should also be in good academic standing with the university.

The PixelPlex STEM Scholarship is offered to STEM, economics, and business majors who write about uncommon technology usage within a chosen industry. Incoming and undergraduate students may apply. (Additional deadline in June)

The Roy G. Post Foundation offers scholarships to undergraduate and graduate engineering students who have a focus in nuclear energy and its life cycle.

SOM Foundation Prize in Architecture, Design and Urban Design is for graduating undergraduate and graduate students of accredited U.S. schools of architecture, design and urban design.

 

January

The IAAP Education Foundation Scholarship program strengthens the Illinois aggregates industry by promoting the education of worthy students seeking a career in the aggregates industry. Undergraduate students majoring in Civil Engineering, Engineering Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, Geological Engineering, Mineral Science or Mining Engineering are eligible to apply.

Mass Media Science & Engineering Program (AAAS)  internships are for undergraduate, graduate and post-grad students from the sciences, math and engineering to do internships at media outlets during the summer.

The Measurement Science Conference Scholarships are offered to university students enrolled in an engineering, science, or quality assurance program.

SWE Scholarships support those who identify as a woman and pursue an ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student program in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology, and fields related to engineering globally.

Whitaker International Fellows Program in Bioengineering is for students who have already completed a bachelor's or master's degree, or are currently enrolled in a PhD program, to undertake a project abroad for one year in bio/biomedical engineering.

 

February

American Society of Naval Engineers Scholarship Program is for undergraduate college students who have an interest in pursuing a career in naval engineering.

The American Society of Civil Engineers, Illinois Section Scholarships is for undergraduate college students who have an interest in pursuing a career in naval engineering.

The Information Security Undergraduate Scholarship is for students pursuing, or planning to pursue, a degree with a focus on cybersecurity or information assurance.

The Jewish Federation Academic Scholarship Program is for Jewish college and graduate students pursuing degrees in the "helping" professions, including various engineering fields.

The SCIPE AI in Civil Engineering fellowship and scholarship programs provides a year-long opportunity for graduate students, and a summer-long opportunity for undergraduate students, to develop advanced Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Infrastructure for applications in Civil Engineering and collaborate with experts at The University of Texas at Austin and Texas Advanced Computing Center. 

 

March

The Anna N. Dosen Serbian Educational Fund offers incoming and undergraduate students of Serbian ethnicity, who are majoring in engineering or health sciences, financial assistance to complete their degree programs.

The BMO and Lime Connect Equity Through Education Scholarship offers financial assistance to reduce the cost of attending university for undergraduate and graduate students with a disability. Students pursuing a business, engineering, or math degree with an interest in financial services are encouraged to apply.

The UIC Women in Science and Engineering WISE Frank Scholarship is for UIC students only; female students pursuing degrees in sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

 

April

Undergraduate juniors and seniors and graduate students in an environmental-related degree or certificate program are encouraged to apply for the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP) Chicago Chapter Scholarship.

The American Association of Blacks in Energy proudly supports the academic achievements of students who desire careers in the energy industry, by awarding scholarships to those students who meet the minimum scholarship qualifications. 

American Council of Engineering Committees (ACEC) ProNet Scholarship  is for undergraduate juniors, seniors or graduate students in architecture or engineering or a combination of both whose studies will be leading them into practice management.

American Planning Association is a variety of awards for undergraduate and graduate students in fields related to planning.

The CME Group Foundation Scholars Program is open to low-income, underrepresented minority students majoring in finance, computer science, information technology, math, cyber security, data science, statistics, or financial engineering. Applicants should be rising sophomores, juniors and seniors.

Illinois Society of Professional Engineers Scholarships  (STUDENTS AT ILLINOIS UNIVERSITIES ONLY) is for junior and senior undergraduate students in engineering; must have a "B" average or better and demonstrate financial need.

The North American Network Operators Group (NANOG) is the professional association for internet engineering, architecture and operations. In an effort to support the next generation of network operators, NANOG has established a scholarship program to assist current undergraduate and graduate-level students.

The Southwest Branch of the Chicago Metropolitan Chapter of the American Public Works Association is sponsoring scholarship programs. Applicants should be students pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Public Works Management or employees in the public works field pursuing continuing education classes or degrees to further their knowledge of public works.

The CodeWizardsHQ Scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to an incoming freshman student who is pursuing a career in STEM and is showing financial need.

U.S. Department of Energy Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship is for undergraduate students interested in energy-related research positions at various labs across the country within the DOE; positions available for fall, spring and summer.

Automotive Hall of Fame Scholarships  consists of a range of scholarships for incoming freshmen and upper-level undergraduate students, all of which are based on financial need with a usual minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; for students with genuine interest in a career in the automotive industry.

BF Goodrich Collegiate Invention Competition  are prizes for original inventions at the undergraduate and graduate levels; promotes exploration in invention, science, engineering, technology, and other creative endeavors; provides a window on the technologies from which society will benefit in the future.

The Illinois Association of Highway Engineers (IAHE) provides financial support to Undergraduate and Graduate students through the Schaumburg Chapter Grant Shaw Memorial Scholarship. Applicants must be full-time college students majoring in a transportation related field.

Sigmund Software offers its scholarship to provide financial assistance to incoming and undergraduate students pursuing a technology driven career in the following or related fields: nursing, healthcare, IT, computer engineering, healthcare technologies, health informatics, or health information management.

The Women in Aerospace Foundation Scholarship awards women interested in a career in aerospace while being a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering, math, or science.

The ABC Humane Wildlife Women in STEM Scholarships are offered to undergraduate and graduate STEM students who identify as female.

Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Environmental Studies Scholarship provides two awards of $10,000 each to minority and women college students pursuing a degree in environmental science or other related fields of study; must have junior class standing in college with a declared major in environmental science or a related field, with a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be a U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident.

The Everglades Foundation is a non-profit dedicated to leading efforts to restore and protect the greater Everglades ecosystem. The ForEverglades scholarships are open to full-time graduate research students from all universities pursuing degrees in earth sciences, biological sciences, engineering, geography, planning and resources management, and economics.

Women in Defense HORIZONS Scholarship  is for female undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields, ultimately interested in a career related to defense and national security.

American Chemical Society Minority Scholars Program is for high school seniors and continuing undergraduate students intent on majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or a chemically related field; African American, Hispanic and Native American students.

The Hartford Technology Rental Company is offering current students who are engaged in the study of information technology and have a focus on mobile technology a scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistant to students at the Junior and Senior level who are concentrating in the study of information technology.
