The content of these pages are merely a guide for current undergraduate and professional school students at UIC. October

Sigma Xi Research Society (FALL DEADLINE) grants in aid of research (science and engineering); awards for astronomy and vision-related research (Also has Spring deadline in March)

 

November

American Association of University Women International Fellowships are awarded for full-time study or research to students who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents; support graduate or postgraduate studies at accredited institutions.

The East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship provides Master's and Doctoral funding for graduate students from Asia, the Pacific, and the U.S. to participate in educational and research programs at the East-West Center while pursuing graduate study at the University of Hawai‘i; areas of international study including politics, governance and security, economics, environmental change, population and health, education and Pacific islands development. This is for graduating college seniors or first-year graduate or professional school students who are immigrants or first-generation Americans, funding for graduate or professional study.

 

December

Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship  is for students studying art, music, architecture in graduate programs.

P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship provides scholarships for international students to pursue graduate study in the United States and Canada.

 

January
DAAD Study Scholarship (Interested students must contact the Office of External Fellowships) is for undergraduates, recent graduates and current graduate students to study abroad in Germany.

Institute for Humane Studies Fellowships are scholarships for undergraduate or graduate study up to $12,000 for students interested in exploring the principles, practices, and institutions necessary for a free society.

Josephine De Kármán Fellowship Trust is open to students in any discipline, including international students, who are currently enrolled in a university or college located within the United States -- undergraduates with only one year remaining and graduates students planning defense of their thesis/dissertation at the end of the following academic year; minimum of ten (10) fellowships -- $22,000 for graduate students and $14,000 for undergraduate students -- are awarded for one year (non-renewable and non-postponable).

The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund  for students from developing countries who are currently studying in the United States or Canada; annual grants of approximately $12,000 each; those who are committed to improving the lives of women and children in a developing country.

ThinkSwiss Research Scholarship is for undergraduate or graduate students, conduct research at a public university in Switzerland for 2-3 months.

 

February

Roothbert Fund Scholarships (PLEASE NOTE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT WHEN REVIEWING) are for men and women in need of financial aid to further their education; principal focus is grants ($2,000-$3,000) to undergraduate or graduate study at accredited colleges or universities; seeks candidates who are "motivated by spiritual values," and works to foster fellowship among them.

 

March

May
Byron Hanke Fellowship  is available to graduate students working on topics related to community associations; must be enrolled in an accredited master's, doctoral, or law program in the United States of America or Canada.

 

June

AESF Scholarships are for undergraduate and graduate students (national and international applicants) studying chemical engineering, material science or engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgical engineering, environmental engineering or chemistry.

Pharmica offers the Pharmica International Scholarship Program to a student accepted to study at an accredited University and classified as an international or oversea student.

 

July
Manatt Fellowship is for conducting research in democracy-building; U.S. or international graduate students pursuing degrees in international relations, political science, public administration or other related areas; graduate institution must be in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, or Wisconsin.

 

Variable Deadline
Global Undergraduate Exchange Program | U.S. Department of State provides one semester and academic year scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students from underrepresented sectors in East Asia, Eurasia and Central Asia, the Near East and South Asia and the Western Hemisphere for non-degree full-time study combined with community service, internships and cultural enrichment.

The United Nations Internship Program is for graduate students in all fields; fall, spring and summer placements at UN Headquarters in NYC.

Washington Center Internships are for various fields, all majors, college upper-classmen and graduate students, positions for fall, spring and summer in Washington, DC, and abroad.

Spencer Foundation Dissertation Fellowships  provide funding to support graduate study in many fields, with dissertation work focusing on the improvement of education.
